Patrick Mahomes has revealed how Chiefs teammate Travis Kelce taught him his most valuable lesson in fashion.
Both Kansas City stars have built a reputation for eye-catching gameday fits, with Mahomes known for arriving at road games in a sharp suits and sunglasses.
‘My routine is the same every time,’ he once explained. ‘If it’s a home game, I usually wear some casual clothes. And if it’s an away game, I’ll throw on the suit and show out a little bit.’
Mahomes claims he is ‘very superstitious’ but the quarterback is also inspired by Kelce, his close friend and teammate in Kansas City.
Ahead of the new NFL season, when the Chiefs will go for an historic three-peat after back-to-back Super Bowl wins, Mahomes discussed the best fashion advice he had ever received.

‘To be you,’ he said. ‘I think being you is the best fashion tip you can have – no matter what everybody else thinks.
‘I think I learned that from Travis Kelce – you can wear whatever outfit as long as you’re confident in it, you can make it work.’
The Chiefs begin their pursuit of another Super Bowl crown against the Baltimore Ravens on September 5.
But Mahomes has revealed the matchup he is most looking forward to during the 2024 season.
‘I’m always really excited to play the Raiders – it’s always a great game, we always have a fun time when we’re able to go up against each other,’ he said.
The quarterback picked Randy Moss – the former wide receiver and six-time Pro Bowler – as his dream teammate.
Mahomes also revealed how NIL (name, image, likeness – a new rule which allows student-athletes to profit from their personal brand) would have altered his career at Texas Tech and in the NFL – had it been introduced during his college days.
‘I probably would have stayed for my senior year and who knows what the rest of my NFL history would have been?’ the 28-year-old said.
