On the American side, however, the gold medal is already being celebrated, as the Blues are looked down upon.

The French team could hardly have had a more chaotic Olympic tournament… Presented as the greatest competition in our history, these Games initially inhibited Vincent Collet’s men.

They imposed themselves with difficulty against Brazil in the opening match, miraculously against Japan, then they were destroyed by Germany to conclude a worrying group stage.

And faced with the scathing statements of some and others in this period of doubt, the locker room could have imploded before even returning to Paris for the second phase… But this selection is full of men who have heard the criticism, who have questioned themselves, and who have promised themselves to pull in the same direction no matter what it takes on the road to a medal.

After crushing Canada and then Germany, two favorites who are superior on paper, the Blues will be in the final against Team USA for a rematch of the Tokyo edition.

Do they have a chance to achieve the feat in front of their supporters? Across the Atlantic, no one believes it, and the specialists are already celebrating the coronation of LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.

That’s good, it’s a good silver medal for the French. But it’s impossible that they beat Team USA in the final. Impossible! The match won’t even be close.

They don’t have a player to pass the ball to in the hot moments to make the difference.

Their backup system is Victor Wembanyama who tries to beat his defender by dribbling behind the 3-point line.

Most of the wingers don’t know how to dribble or carry the ball.

The team doesn’t know how to dribble, it can’t bring the ball up, the point guards don’t know how to handle such high pressure, and offensively they don’t know how to play the pick & roll.

They’re going to have to pass the ball to Wemby and pray that he’s having a great night.

They don’t have anyone who can definitely score a basket when it’s needed.

For Gilbert Arenas, the match between Team USA and Serbia was a final before its time, since the French team wouldn’t have the weapons to worry the “Avengers”.

The former All-Star is convinced that the lack of offensive talent will be too great a handicap to overcome for the Blues, who don’t have a reliable system to score every time.

In the first round, the French team showed worrying limitations in its game.

But since then, an extra soul seems to carry Vincent Collet’s men. Let’s hope they will be as effective in the final.
