Le commissioner de la NBA, Adam Silver

Basketball has never been so popular in the world. In Europe, this discipline is now one of the most practiced and followed.

Enough to give ideas in the middle of the Olympic Games to NBA Commissioner Adam Silver.

Today, basketball is experiencing its most significant growth since its creation in 1891.

The NBA is still the premier competition for the orange ball sport. For a long time, Americans were almost the only ones to dominate.

However, things have now changed on a global scale. As proof, the league currently has 60 European players who come from 27 different countries.

Better still, out of the last 6 MVP trophies, each of these awards have been given to international players, four of whom are from Europe.

It is clear that we are at a turning point, Adam Silver understood this well, and that is why he announced that he was studying certain opportunities with the Old Continent in an interview in Villeneuve-d’Ascq with Tim Reynolds of The Associated Press.

The NBA soon in all of Europe?
Once again, this reminds me of the possibilities that are available to us.

We want to be sure to seize the opportunity that is available to us. We will take the necessary time before deciding to move forward with any initiative.

When we first played a preseason game in France, there were no French players in the NBA.

Today, there are 14, including the last two No. 1 picks in the draft. So I think this is a great example of how the sport is evolving here.

We certainly don’t want to damage the solid foundations of basketball that are in place. On the other hand, when it comes to regional and inter-regional competition here in Europe, I am still studying that.

A lot of investors lose significant amounts of money every year. And while it’s not just about money, most things that lose money without any profitability are ultimately not going to survive.

So whatever we do here, I think it’s important that it adds to the structure of European basketball.

Adam Silver is currently in France to attend the Olympic Games. But he is not content to play the tourist, since he recently declared that he is in the middle of studying the expansion of the NBA on the European continent. To be continued…
