The drama between Angel Reese and Caitlin has reached a boiling point, and it all centers around Angel’s decision to try to cancel Caitlin Clark’s potential Europe contract, accusing her of being “money-minded and greedy.” But if we’re being honest, Angel’s actions here seem more about jealousy than any genuine moral high ground.
All season long, Angel has been on a personal crusade against Caitlin, doing everything in her power to tear her down.
Physical altercations? Yeah, that too. If there were a Hall of Fame for playing dirty in basketball, Angel would have a front-row seat.
Now, with Caitlin ready to make her big move to Europe, where she’s finally getting the recognition (and paycheck) she deserves, Angel just can’t handle it. Her response?
She throws out accusations that Caitlin is “greedy.” But here’s the kicker: Angel herself has been vocal about how her WNBA salary doesn’t even cover her massive $8,000 rent. So, what gives?
The hypocrisy in Angel’s accusations is almost comical. She’s out here painting Caitlin as some money-hungry villain, when in reality, Caitlin’s just making a smart career move.
Meanwhile, Angel is out here grumbling about her own paycheck. It’s almost laughable, the way Angel’s trying to act like the moral compass of the WNBA when she’s been just as concerned—if not more—about money herself.
Let’s be real for a second: this isn’t about Caitlin being “greedy.” It’s plain and simple jealousy. Caitlin’s out there breaking records left and right, making waves in women’s basketball, while Angel is more focused on dragging her down than building herself up.
Angel’s out here calling Caitlin “ungrateful” for wanting to explore better opportunities abroad. But can we really blame Caitlin for that?
She’s been underpaid while breaking records, and Europe is offering her a paycheck that actually reflects her talent and contribution to the sport.
Europe values Caitlin, plain and simple.
They see her worth, and they’re ready to compensate her accordingly. Meanwhile, Angel’s over here talking smack, but what is she actually doing?
Oh right, she’s busy with modeling gigs and Instagram selfies, making more money posing for fashion deals than she does playing basketball. Nothing wrong with that hustle, but you can’t call Caitlin money-hungry when you’re doing the same thing—just in a different industry.
Caitlin’s focus has always been on the game, and now she’s being painted as the bad guy for wanting to get paid what she’s worth. The double standards here are astounding.
Caitlin’s simply doing what any smart athlete would do: exploring her options. She’s not asking for anything outrageous, just a fair deal for her talents. Europe is ready to give her the respect she deserves, while the WNBA seems more focused on placating players who don’t even come close to Caitlin’s level of talent.
