Cameron Brink could be ready to go for the 2025 WNBA season as the Los Angeles Sparks‘ ace recovers from her Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury that devastated her rookie campaign after just 15 games.

Selected as the overall second pick in the draft, the 22-year-old was tipped for big things in the same class as the Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese and Indiana Fever’s Caitlin Clark but the Stanford graduate didn’t get much of a chance to prove it.

Thank you for watching

She was taken off the court on June 19th against the Connecticut Suns with the horrific knee injury and sidelined for the rest of the year, although she did show flashes of her talent by shooting for 15+ points three times.

Now as she begins her rehabilitation through calisthenics as she looks to rebuild muscle in her left leg, she has a target in mind to be there for the Sparks’ opening game on May 16 against the WNBA’s latest team: the Golden State Valkyries, who are based in San Francisco.

“One step at a time,” Brink posted to Instagram, showing herself working out in the gym with squats, leg presses and dumbbells, as well as various other pushing movements, in a post that gained over 47,000 likes.

And it’s no surprise that fans were hyped to see the young woman, who is known for her fashion sense, returning to fitness as they took to the comments of the Mark Zuckerberg-owned app to hype her up.

One user wrote, “Yes bae work them knees out! Can’t wait to see you back on the court!”

A second commented, “MY QUEEN IS GONNA BE BACK TO DOMINATE IN NO TIME, LET’S GOOOOOOOO!”

A third said, “Miss seeing you play…I hope your rehab is going well for my fav Stanford WNBA player!”

And a fourth stated, “Road to recovery is looking great! We’re so proud of you.”

Sparks look to end barren run in 2025

With Brink at the helm, the LA Sparks will look to end a torrid run in recent seasons that has seen them miss the WNBA Playoffs consecutively since the 2020 campaign, when they reached the Second Round.

In 2024, they finished bottom of the entire league standings with an 8-32 record. Whilst they were one win behind the Dallas Wings, they were a worrying 11 back from the .475 Phoenix Suns.

With the overall second pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft and Brink due to return, they could essentially have a new starting five and could be set to climb up the order to end their postseason drought.
