The Chiefs have won in very strange ways this term. Whether or not it’s sustainable enough to get them that third-straight Super Bowl is something left to debate. But opposing fans can’t take much more of teams literally handing them games.
Andy Reid had to watch his squad scrape through Friday’s contest, but he worked for his salary as he implemented an emergency plan that saw All-Pro guard Joe Thuney replace left tackle Wanya Morris.
“He’s playing against a couple of good players,” Reid said on Morris’ struggles, per The Kansas City Star. “But you gotta do better than what we did there.”
Patrick Mahomes, who endured rough treatment as linebacker K’Lavon Chaisson had a career night, was visibly frustrated. At one point, the quarterback was seen holding out his hands in a questioning gesture as if to ask how much more he should take.

The Kansas City Chiefs Cannot Continue To Rely On Luck
Ultimately, Mahomes and the Chiefs found themselves in the W column, thanks to a botched snap, but they know they will not be able to rely on luck the rest of the way.
“There’s no better time to learn than when you get your a** beat,” Morris said after the game. “It sucks to get your a** beat, but when you get your (rear-end) beat, you can have two responses: You can lay down, or you can get back up and try something new. I’m going to get back up and try something new.”
Who knows if he will be handed that opportunity now?
