Pufferfish has left judges baffled on ITV’s The Masked Singer – but fans think they know who is behind the mask.

The Masked Singer is back on screens this weekend for another evening of singing, dancing and amateur sleuthing. Costumed contestants take to the stage as judges try to guess who’s behind the mask, with clues being offered throughout each episode.

One contestant that has left judges and fans baffled so far is Pufferfish – but now some eagle eyed viewers think they have “cracked it”.

Recently, the judges guessed all different celebrities. Special guest Vicky McClure (Line of Duty) bet that Kelly Osbourne was behind the mask, meanwhile Maya Jama went for reality star Nicole Richie, who starred with Paris Hilton on the recently revamped The Simple Life.

Mo Gilligan opted for Loose Women’s Stacey Solomon, while Davina selected Hayden Panettiere.

Jonathan Ross was the only one to guess a male celebrity, deciding on soul singer Rag n Bone Man. However, fans at home had other ideas entirely.

Posting to Reddit, one viewer shared their theory, writing: “Okay so this wasn’t my idea but I’ve seen it somewhere and totally agree with it. Pufferfish could be Jamie-Lynn Spears?”

They explained: “The spider in the clue package could refer to her time on “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!” in 2023. She is of American descent which explains the accent.

“The dice roll equalling 11 – she first became famous at age 11 with her first acting role. ‘Runs in the family’ – the sister of famous pop singer Britney Spears.

“‘Small but just as impressive’ – she is the younger sister, and shorter.”

Other social media users commented in agreement, with one writing: “That’s exactly who I was thinking!” Another echoed: “Omg I think it’s her.”

One was indecisive, writing: “For me, way too early for this. there are still more hints.” Meanwhile, others disagreed completely and threw their own ideas out there.

Unconvinced, someone wrote: “She’s on my ‘maybe maybe’ pile. The only thing holding me back is I’m not convinced she could perform that well live.”

“It sounds like Marina from Marina & The Diamonds – such a distinct voice and the clues work too,” another suggested, while one more posted: “I would agree but i don’t think jamie lynn has enough personality funnily enough – Pufferfish is very expressive and she… isn’t.”
