The Duke of Sussex has been accused of mirroring toxic patterns to that of his parents, who used to involve him and Prince William in their rows, with his own kids who haven’t seen their grandfather King Charles in years.

A royal commentator has pointed out worrying parallels between Prince Harry’s actions and the “same mistakes” King Charles made with the late Princess Diana.

During the tumultuous 1990s and following their split, King Charles was accused of dragging their sons Prince William and Harry into his conflicts with their mother.

Now, comparisons are being drawn as it’s been over two years since the King last saw his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, and according to reliable source, there are no signs of an impending reunion between the monarch and Prince Harry.

As time marches on, the bond between the duke and the Royal Family seems to be further fraying, particularly after Harry and Meghan’s move to the US after stepping down from royal duties in early 2020, OK! reports.

Things undeniably went from bad to worse after the release of the Sussexes’ Netflix docuseries which was shortly followed by Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare. Whispers among royal experts hint at an almost non-existent line of communication between King Charles and Harry.

Well-placed royal insiders claim conversations have stalled, and the mounting issues are only intensifying their distance. Although a glimmer of hope for a renewal of family ties emerged when Harry hurried back to Britain upon hearing of Charles’ cancer scare, those hopes now appear dim.

Tom Quinn, who penned ‘Scandals of the Royal Palaces: An Intimate Memoir of Royals Behaving Badly, ‘ emphasised the familiarity of this behavioural pattern.

Allegedly, using children in such a manner is frowned upon within royal circles and has reportedly earned the King’s disapproval.

The author disclosed: “His desire to punish his father for not apologising for the past has become obsessive and it is ironic that he is now using his children in the battle with his father just as King Charles and Diana used William and Harry in their battles.

“Despite Harry’s attacks on the Royal Family his father has avoided responding by attacking his son publicly, but privately King Charles is furious.

“So much so that he is now refusing to take calls from his son. Charles believes Harry should let bygones be bygones for the sake of Archie and Lilibet, but he senses that access to the children is being used as a bargaining chip and that, in Charles’ view, is unforgivable.”

There appeared to be a ray of hope for the royal pair to reconcile, especially after their meeting when Harry hurriedly returned to Britain upon learning that Charles was diagnosed with cancer.

However, harmony seemed elusive weeks later during Harrys trip to the UK for the 10th anniversary service of the Invictus Games at St Paul’s Cathedral, where no interaction occurred between the father and son, insinuating that Charles was too occupied to organise a meet-up.

However, sources close to the duke have now revealed that Harry’s attempts to reach out to his father are being ignored as he tries to discuss his security arrangements.

The 39-year-old has been embroiled in an ongoing row over his security when he visits the UK, having automatically lost his right to police protection when he left the country four years ago.

In February, the Duke of Sussex faced a blow when he lost his High Court challenge against the decision to cut his taxpayer-funded police protection, following his step back from royal duties.

Despite his plans to appeal this decision, experts predict that he will be attending the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham alone.
