The WNBA season might be over but Caitlin Clark is not done making headlines! After a historic season that had her in competition against Angel Reese for Rookie of the Year, the Fever star outshined the 2024 draft class. And yet again, CC has left behind the Chicago Sky player in another honor.

TIME magazine just named Clark to their Inspiring Women edition, subtitled Changemakers for a Better World. The Iowa star also rubs shoulders with other athletes featured like Serena Williams and Megan Rapinoe. On the entertainment side, the cover also includes names like Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, Jane Fonda, and Billie Eilish. Talk about a star-studded lineup!

Bear in mind, Caitlin Clark is 22-year-old and just finished her very first year as a pro and has already had the kind of impact most athletes don’t have their whole careers. There is a good decade or more left in the tank and it’s only going to grow, but CC has already earned a spot beside her favorite T Swift! Angel Reese, despite her own brilliant season, was not chosen for the same honor, but she does hold her own against her old rival.

Both players have their own strengths that make them shine on the court and rarely do their achievements overlap. But even Taylor Swift fans have found a side to pick in this endless rookie debate.

Remember Caitlin Clark ‘liking’ a social media post of Taylor Swift endorsing Kamala Harris last month? It created uproar in the basketball community about No. 22 declaring her political intentions, to which CC had replied, “I have this amazing platform, so I think the biggest thing would be to just encourage people to register to vote. That’s the biggest thing I can do with the platform that I have and that’s the same thing Taylor (Swift) did.”

Almost exactly a year ago, when news broke of Swift dating Chiefs star Travis Kelce, CC had posted on X, “Taylor Swift welcome to the good side,” with the hashtag, “Chiefs Kingdom.” This post was revisited when Angel Reese invited Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole on her podcast, Unapologetically Angel.

And in a rivalry that has seen some of the most high profile moments in the young players’ careers, Swifties have decided to flock to Clark for her support. In this instance, Reese was quick to respond to the stories with “hating pays too,” on X, and whatever narrative the media wants to portray, these two are bent on playing their favorite sport with an unrivaled passion.
