If Angel Reese is the Double-Double Queen, Caitlin Clark has her own Fever. Literally! While Reese and the Chicago Sky are preparing for the next season, hiring a new head coach: Mark Tyler, and holding the highly anticipated inaugural press conference, Clark, even though at the Women’s Leadership Summit, is still keeping an eye on her opponents which was evident from her statement.

“I just want to be better than everybody else,” Clark stated. The ROTY clearly mentioned that she wanted to be the best in the world and no one to be better than her, “… And so I think those two things. That’s what helps me be the best. I can be very honest and real with myself and I think at times that’s what… Definitely the younger generation struggles with is they always wanna point fingers but you always gotta look at yourself first and see how you’re gonna improve,” Clark spoke during the Women’s Leadership Summit on Tuesday.

The generational player has been called to the summit that celebrates sisterhood at the Pelican Golf Club. It is a lunch and speaker panel that presents a compelling discussion with women from different fields and also top-notch golfers to contribute from their experience. Post this, she will be playing alongside Nelly Korda and Annika Sorenstam at the LPGA Pro-Am event. Meanwhile, her balling skills have proved her words right this season.

The Iowa-alum during her rookie season broke record after record. She became the first rookie in the W history to have a triple-double, and that too two. Then, the No. 22 impressed all with her three-pointers, as was expected of her. She finished with the highest threes this year, only behind Sabrina Ionescu in the single-season highest three-pointers.

Then, she had the highest number of assists (337) in a single season in the W’s history. With all this, the Des Mines-born helped take the Indiana Fever to their first playoffs since 2016. Surely she knows how to tackle her opponents and be the best, and the first step to that starts with realizing one’s mistakes and then improving upon them according to the 22-year-old. With Clark having the maturity to understand this, maybe Reese’s shot at taking her down might not reach fruition.

While Clark is at the Women’s Leadership Summit, the Chicago Sky’s new head coach Tyler Marsh held his inaugural press conference at the Wintrust Arena. During the presser, he could be seen with Michaela Onyenwere, Moriah Jefferson, Elizabeth Williams, and Rachel Banham. However, two major players were missing: Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso. Nonetheless, Marsh did not forget to speak about them.

“It’s not just player development. It’s time in the film room. We want Kamilla and Angel to be good at what they do already but we also want them to score easily. We want to be good 1-12,” Marsh stated, also hinting that he wants a development of all 12 players. Quite an impressive move by the Sky as Marsh was previously the assistant coach and head of player development with the Las Vegas Aces, and his experience shines through.

Additionally, we have seen the Chi-Town Barbie sweat and grind on the court as her offseason practices are on a roll. Meanwhile, Chicago Sky Co-Owner and Operating Chairman Nadia Rawlinson during his recruitment had enunciated that this was the “new era of Chicago Sky basketball,” while revealing that they wanted to concentrate on “being a playoff and championship contender every year.”

And now it remains to be seen who would outdo the other- Clark or Reese, as both have made their plans clear today.
