An insider is sharing behind-the-scenes details of what helped fuel the on-set drama between Blake Lively and her co-star and director Justin Baldoni while filming ‘It Ends With Us.’

The rumors about troubles for the movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s best-selling book have run rampant since the film’s New York premiere on August 6, when Baldoni was not photographed with his fellow cast members.

But now, an insider exclusively tells DailyMail.com what they saw of Lively on set during the filming, claiming that ‘everyone was a little bit afraid of Blake.’ Baldoni, meanwhile, was derided as a ‘woke and performative feminist.’

Lively ‘wasn’t mean – she was just so effortlessly rude,’ the source confided.

There ‘wasn’t outward feuding or fighting’ but the 36-year-old actress was ‘so extraordinarily opiniated’ and ‘had really strong feelings about things’ that it caused great stress and tension on the set.

Whispers of drama began when Justin Baldoni, who directed, produced and starred in the movie alongside Lively, was not photographed with his fellow cast members at the New York premiere on August 6

There was tension on set whenever Lively was around, claims the source, because she wasn’t shy about having workers ‘wait on her.’

There was a ‘palpable sense that everyone was a little bit afraid of Blake,’ the insider said.

‘I got this impression from Justin that he was just really, really stressed and fatigued about this constant inability to control the project he was making… so much so that when you’d ask him questions, he’d be like, “Well just ask Blake”… because when Blake got there she would have a lot of really strong thoughts and feelings.’

On the first day back from shooting – after production had been waylaid by nine months of writer’s strike, workers on set were desperate – dipping into their 401Ks, losing their houses, etc.

The insider felt it was ‘tone deaf’ for Lively to bring her kids to set that day so they could set up a booth to raise money for ‘sick kids and horses’ amid the crew’s own struggles.

‘There’s nothing bad about having your kids be a part of your workplace, or having your kids be interested in activism… but it’s hard not to have it feel insulting and performative.’

According to an inside source, Lively, 36, wasn’t mean on set… but she was ‘effortlessly rude’

¿Both her and Justin are extraordinarily similar insofar that they're just very special little snowflakes with a shocking amount of privilege and a shockingly little amount of self-awareness,' an inside source said

Blake Lively shines in the latest trailer for It Ends With Us

‘She’s clearly an advocate for the pretty blonde people in the world,’ the inside source claims.

The Daily Mail reached out to Lively’s representatives but they declined to comment for this article.

Lively sparked more criticism from fans after she promoted her brands Betty Booze and Betty Buzz – along with her new hair-care brand Blake Brown, at the same time as the promotions for ‘It Ends With Us.’

Some fans were horrified that the ‘Gossip Girl’ actress – who is married to ‘Deadpool’ star Ryan Reynolds – chose to promote her own brands adjacently to a movie dealing with such a serious topic as domestic abuse.

Since then, many have returned the newly purchased hair care products to Target stores in light of the scandal.

‘This is a trauma and this was an opportunity to provide resources for a very underrepresented class who doesn’t have a voice and instead she’s selling shampoo,’ the inside source opined.

On the other side of the rumored beef… the source claims that Baldoni, 40, was just as difficult to deal with on set.

‘Justin is very similar to her [Lively] in that he needs to be the smartest person in the room’ the insider revealed.

He reportedly had a sty on his eyelid for most of the shoot – and forced camera crews to re-block filming to avoid it.

‘I wouldn’t be surprised if the majority of the visual effects budget was dedicated to editing it out,’ the source said.

Baldoni’s brand, they said, is that he is a ‘woke feminist’ – and he even wrote a book titled ‘Undefining Masculinity.’

The Daily Mail reached out to Baldoni’s representatives but they did not immediately respond for comment.

‘From what I watched, [the film feels like] two rich, entitled people who have NO experience with abuse and cosplaying what they imagine abuse could be like for hot people.’
