Nancy Pelosi sparked a frenzy of online speculation during her Democratic National Convention speech on Wednesday, but not for the reasons she would have hoped. 

As the 84-year-old former House speaker walked out on stage to address the jubilant crowd, a mystery white object fell from her pants. 

Critics were giddy with claims that it was a piece of discarded toilet paper that dropped to the floor as she approached the podium.

She even looked back to see what she had left behind as she prepared to give her remarks in Chicago before the keynote from vice presidential nominee and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Twitter erupted with speculation about a white item that fell out of Nancy Pelosi ‘s pants on stage at the Democratic Convention on Wednesday

The item remained on stage behind the California Democrat during her remarks.

The internet was awash with theories about what the mystery object was.

However those who speculated will be disappointed, as it appears it was only a loose notecard.

‘Toilet paper fell out of Nancy Pelosi’s pant leg when she walked onto stage,’ right-wing X user Ian Miles Cheong wrote with a video of the scene.

Other pro-Trump users also jumped on claiming it was an embarrassing moment for the 84-year-old.

One X user wrote: ‘Pelosi was drunk AF and didn’t realize she had toilet paper in her pants.’

‘What does Nancy Pelosi and toilet paper have in common? They both are used by Trump to wipe his a**!!!’ another posted.

A chorus of other right-wing and pro-MAGA social media users also jumped on mocking the former Speaker for the now-viral moment.

But the website Not The Bee conducted a mini and almost joke experiment that found it was probably a piece of paper or note card that Pelosi dropped on the stage rather than an awkward toilet paper-on-shoe moment.

During the walkout to the podium in Chicago , Illinois , Pelosi looked back at her foot as a white object fell from her pants to the floor.

Some on social media speculated it was toilet paper that was discarded on the stage, but a closer inspection suggested a less nefarious explanation

The outlet found when dropping a piece of toilet paper versus a piece of paper on the floor that it was more likely the latter.

During the speech, Pelosi praised Joe Biden profusely and thanked him for his service after he dropped out.

Mindy Kaling, who hosted during the evening, introduced Pelosi as ‘mother of dragons,’ referring to the powerful Queen on the TV show Game of Thrones.

The words were notable from the former speaker after she played a large role in convincing Biden to exit the presidential race.

‘He established one of the most successful presidencies of modern times,’ she said. ‘Thank you Joe.’

On the tarmac after his convention speech on Monday, as he prepared to fly to California, DailyMail.com asked Biden if he was still angry at Pelosi and if he had spoken with her.

He didn’t acknowledge the anger portion of the question, but noted he hadn’t talked to her yet.
