Several players, including Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, have been robbed while traveling for games.
Burglaries targeting high-profile athletes may have ties to a South American crime ring.
The daring break-ins occurred just days apart last month, leaving investigators scrambling to uncover the true masterminds behind the heists.
The FBI has been investigating ever since Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes got their homes hit.
Kelce’s home was robbed on 7 October as he was starting a game against the New Orleans Saints. Officials said that $20,000 was taken and a rear door was broken.
What wasn’t reported initially was that Travis Kelce lost a watch in that burglary, but now it is no longer missing.
Kelce’s home invasion took place a day after a separate burglary at Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ Belton, Mo. estate. Patrick is said to have lost jerseys, medals, trophies, awards, and more.
Aside from Kelce and Mahomes, Milwaukee Bucks forward Bobby Portis also had his home in Wisconsin hit. He posted a plea on Instagram about his “prized possessions” being taken during a home invasion while he was at work the previous night.
