After Shedeur Sanders was sacked in the third quarter of Saturday’s game against Kansas, players from both sides came together and exchanged words.

Sanders, the son of Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, made things so much worse after shoving referee Kevin Mar. He was “lucky” that it didn’t result in an ejection, Fox rules analyst Mike Pereira said on the broadcast.

“Yeah, there’s no question that he (pushes the official). Look, I get why he’s upset because people are almost climbing over him after he was down,” Fox Sports’ broadcast officiating expert Mike Pereira said during the broadcast.

“But, you know, the officials can use their hands all they want to try to keep order, but you can not come back as a player and push an official. In the chaos, the officials don’t see it, but he’s lucky he wasn’t ejected from the game.”

Shedeur Sanders seemed to become enraged after the sack when one Kansas player appeared to start celebrating while walking over him. He took exception and wanted a flag called.

Somewhere in the middle of the exchange, he appeared to push the head referee. Although he escaped not getting ejected, he might not escape what comes next.

The Big 12 could step in and access a suspension for his actions.

NCAA rules mandate automatic suspensions for certain things, like fighting or targeting, but luckily for Shedeur, making contact with an official is not part of that, per ESPN.

As for the game, Sanders completed 23 of 29 passes for 366 and three touchdowns.

Unfortunately, the Buffaloes’ defense could not do enough to stop the Jayhawks.

Kansas football running back Devin Neal racked up 207 yards on the ground and four touchdowns.

Shedeur Sanders Doesn’t Agree With Deion After Team Lost To Kansas

The Colorado Buffaloes appeared to be on the path to the College Football Playoff until they were blown out on Saturday.

The 16th-ranked Buffaloes controlled their own destiny but fell to Kansas, 37-21.

Head coach Deion Sanders said his guys “started smelling” themselves.

“We started smelling ourselves a little bit,” Sanders said after the game. “That’s what I just told our team. We got intoxicated with the success. We got intoxicated with the multitude of articles and the assumption that we’re this and the assumption that we’re that. And we did not play CU football. Therefore, we got our butts kicked.”

Shedeur Sanders did not agree.

“Personally, I’m just an overconfident person myself,” Shedeur said. “So I can’t spot that on anybody else and say they’re overconfident. I’m not sure. It was really … we all did our job preparing and doing that, so whatever people did in their personal side, like mentally, you won’t be able to know, we won’t be able to know. I’m focused on plenty of other things than how somebody is thinking at all times.”
