The Dallas Mavericks once again proved their edge over the Minnesota Timberwolves, defeating them 120-114 on Tuesday night. This victory came on the heels of last season’s Western Conference Finals, where Luka Doncic’s team also ended the Timberwolves’ championship hopes.

Although Doncic wasn’t at his full strength due to a lingering injury, he still delivered a thrilling moment for Mavs fans late in the game. With the score at 114-109, Doncic sank a deep three-pointer that extended Dallas’ lead to 117.

The excitement didn’t stop there, as the last season’ WCF MVP let out some intense words directed at Timberwolves fans along the sideline. While his exact words weren’t entirely clear, Mavericks fans loved the energy and passion he brought to the court.

Doncic wrapped up the game, adding 24 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. However, it was Kyrie Irving who truly shined, leading the team with 35 points, along with five assists and four rebounds. He scored 16 of his 35 points in the third quarter. With this win, Dallas improved their record to 3-1 for the season.

Luka Doncic Provides An Update On His Injury

Luka Doncic gave the Mavericks fans a scare after a collision during a recent game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. With just over a minute left in the first half, Timberwolves’ Jaden McDaniels accidentally kneed Doncic in the back of the leg, leaving the Mavericks star visibly struggling to put weight on it.

Doncic had to be helped off the court, but fortunately, he managed to return after halftime. After the game, Doncic spoke about the incident, explaining how the unexpected hit had worried him.

Yeah, just got a little scared—a lot of injuries happening. I felt a little something, but I was fine pretty soon after. There are a lot of injuries happening. It’s pretty sore now. I stopped, and somebody kneed me from behind. My knee went forward. It was not good feelings,” Doncic said.

As of now, Doncic’s focus will be on his recovery. His next game is set for Thursday against the Houston Rockets.
