Arch Manning’s grandpa named the one team he wants his grandson to play for.
The Texas Longhorns quarterback hasn’t even yet wrapped up his freshman season in Austin, and his grandfather is already dreaming of his next destination at the next level.
Arch Manning is a few years away from being eligible for the NFL Draft, but when that day comes, Archie Manning would love for him to be the quarterback of America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys.
“I hope he’ll play three years at Texas,” Archie Manning said.
“I hope he’ll play three more years. You know it’s funny, nobody’s ever asked me that. But right off the bat, if somebody asked me, I’d say the Cowboys.”
Archie played for the Saints from 1971-1982.
Despite his history with the team and the state, Archie would prefer his grandson to play for the Cowboys.
It might not end up working out that way, as the Cowboys currently have quarterback Dak Prescott under contract through the 2028 season. The team would have to be extremely terrible before that for them to be put in a position to take Arch Manning.
If Cowboys owner Jerry Jones senses that Arch could be the next great Hall of Fame-caliber NFL quarterback, he might do whatever it takes to ensure he ends up in Arlington.
Arch Manning Is Ready To Let Loose After Being Seatd Behind Quinn Ewers
Manning has been backing up third-year starter Quinn Ewers for two years, but he gave the college football world a taste of what’s to come when Ewers missed a few games.
Manning, who is a redshirt freshman, has looked good in limited action for the Longhorns.
He has 939 passing yards, nine passing touchdowns, 95 rushing yards, and four rushing touchdowns this season.
2025 will tell a lot if Arch Manning is the next QB to be highly touted.
