Hulu has yet to renew Only Murders in the Building for a fifth season, but Selena Gomez teased that she’d ‘love’ her famous friend Taylor Swift to film a future cameo.

‘Oh dear, I love that!’ the 32-year-old Emmy nominee – who’s also executive producer – told E! News last Thursday at the season four premiere.

‘She’s a little busy, you guys.’

That’s when OMITB creator-star Steve Martin sarcastically chimed in: ‘Listen, she calls us every day. Here – she’s calling right now. Ahh, I’ll take it later.’

Selena’s co-star Martin Short added: ‘No, I was talking to Taylor around 3am.’

The white-haired 79-year-old comedian then made a serious remark about Gomez’s friendship with the 34-year-old pop star, which dates back to 2008 when they met through the Jonas Brothers.

‘Here’s how I unite Taylor Swift and Selena,’ said Steve.

‘Taylor Swift handles everything perfectly and so does Selena. In the situations I’ve seen -politically, trolls, everything – she just seems to have a wisdom about how to do something quietly, effortlessly. And I know that you have to think about these things.’

At that, the ‘Texican’ pop star responded: ‘I wish I was recording that to send to her!’

Taylor’s most recent acting roles were as grieving daughter Liz Meekins, who promptly gets hit by a car, in David O. Russell’s dismally-reviewed 2022 box office bomb Amsterdam; as well as the mischievous Bobalurina in Tom Hooper’s dismally-reviewed 2019 musical Cats.

Swift also had acting roles in The Giver (co-starring OMITB actress Meryl Streep), New Girl, The Lorax, Valentine’s Day, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

The 14-time Grammy winner is currently enjoying a much-needed break from her $1.039B-grossing, 149-date The Eras Tour, which doesn’t resume until October 18–20 at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL.

Speaking of which, outlets are starting to realize what Selena was talking to Taylor about when she was spotted at the January 7th Golden Globe Awards gossiping about ‘two of my friends who hooked up.’

The former Disney Channel star is said to earn well over $600K/episode to produce and portray the Arconia resident and artist Mabel Mora in the 10-episode fourth season of the who-done-it series, which premiered Tuesday on Hulu.

Season four has already scored a ‘certified fresh’ critic approval rating (out of 27 reviews) on Rotten Tomatoes.

Guest stars this season include Zach Galifianakis, Eugene Levy, Eva Longoria, Molly Shannon, Kumail Nanjiani, Melissa McCarthy, and Scott Bakula.

Selena will next compete for the outstanding lead actress in a comedy series trophy at the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards, which air September 15 on ABC.

Gomez faces heavy competition against Abbott Elementary’s Quinta Brunson, The Bear’s Ayo Edebiri, Loot’s Maya Rudolph, Hacks’ Jean Smart, and Palm Royale’s Kristen Wiig.

Only Murders also scored an eye-popping 21 nominations total, including outstanding comedy series.
