Angel Reese is set to miss the remainder of the season due to a wrist injury she suffered against the Los Angeles Sparks. Despite the unfortunate setback, Reese continues to show love and support to her teammates.

On Sunday, Angel Reese shared a heartfelt message on her X account to acknowledge Isabelle Harrison for her stellar outing against the Dallas Wings. The 6-foot-3 forward replaced Reese in the starting lineup for the game on Sunday at the Wintrust Arena.

“So proud of you Queen!!!,” wrote Reese.

This was Harrison’s first start of the season. The veteran has been used predominantly off the bench, averaging 14.5 minutes over 31 games this year.

Harrison grabbed the opportunity with both hands finishing with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists 2 steals and a block, falling just short of a double-double. She shot 50 percent from the field (9/18) and was a perfect 3-3 from the free throw line.

The Chicago Sky pulled off a vital 92-77 victory on the night to improve to 13-22 on the season. Chicago remains in the playoff hunt and is one of the teams fighting for the final postseason spot.

The Sky are currently holding a slender one-game lead over the Atlanta Dream and a two-game lead over the Washington Mystics. As we approach the final stretch of the season, Chicago will have to be at their best if it is to return to the playoffs for a sixth straight season.

The loss of Angel Reese is a major blow for the Chicago Sky. Coach Teresa Weatherspoon will be hoping that Isabelle Harrison can continue her fine form over the final five games of the regular season.

Harrison and Reese both attended Southeastern Conference (SEC) schools to develop their games.

Harrison spent four years at the University of Tennessee where she played 112 games under legendary coach Pat Summit and Holly Warlick. She averaged 9.6 points and 6.9 rebounds over her collegiate career and was eventually drafted as the 12th overall pick in the 2015 draft.

After two years at the University of Maryland, Reese transferred to LSU. She was a member of Kim Mulkey’s side that defeated the Iowa Hawkeyes in 2023 to win the NCAA National Championship. Reese was named the SEC Player of the Year and was the seventh selection in the 2024 WNBA draft.
