Angel Reese announced last week that she’s going to miss the rest of the season because of a wrist injury. Reese would later confirm the need for surgery, which happened on Tuesday. It was reportedly successful and she was discharged a day later, showing up in a cast at the Wintrust Arena.
Reese was on the sidelines to show her support for his teammates as the Chicago Sky welcomed the Washington Mystics. She was all smiles before the game, but it quickly turned into an ugly situation for the Sky. They were dismantled by the Mystics early on, building a 16-point lead in the first quarter.
Washington eventually pulled away in the second half, notching up a 89-58 win against the Sky. Following the defeat, Chicago is still eighth in the WNBA standings but will need to win all its remaining games to qualify for the playoffs.
