Indiana Fever (DR)
The WNBA begins the final stretch of its season this Sunday with the start of the playoffs.
A big moment for players and fans alike, especially since Caitlin Clark will be making her debut.
But she has been inexplicably forgotten by her own league.
As the NBA prepares to slowly resume, it’s the opposite for the WNBA, which will see the playoffs begin this Sunday.
Plenty of big games in the pipeline, including a tough matchup for Gabby Williams and the Storm, who will face likely MVP A’ja Wilson with the Aces.
There will also be a series between the Fever and the Sun, with a highly anticipated Caitlin Clark.
After an exceptional regular season, where she broke many records, Clark begins her first playoffs and rookie or not, she wants to make a good impression.
Anything seems possible with Kelsey Mitchell at her side and the support of the public
Caitlin Clark forgotten by the WNBA
If ticket prices are increasing or audiences are exploding, sometimes surpassing the NBA, it is largely thanks to Clark and her phenomenal game.
The WNBA has every interest in betting on her in the future, but it seems that this is not yet a given judging by a recent publication on social networks. There is a major omission.
Mitchell was chosen to represent the Fever on this graphic. An extremely dubious choice since Clark, despite her teammate’s great season, is without a doubt THE star of Indiana and perhaps even the entire league. Many Internet users shared their anger in the wake of this post.
@RobertRagan84 : “Not having Clark on the chart is yet another example of how the WNBA has no idea how to market their product.”
@Alexm3111 : “The fact that Clark isn’t on the chart should prove to everyone that the WNBA is jealous of her success.”
@SFSportsAndTech : “Seriously WNBA. The face of the league for the next decade and the #1 overall superstar isn’t on this chart? Whoever approved this should be fired.”
Not putting Caitlin Clark on this chart is a huge PR mistake. She represents the league and continues to break records, making her a great product to share to gain popularity. But it seems like jealousy is taking over.
