Angel Reese has now been pulled into the daughter-father drama between Trinity and Dennis Rodman. Reese, who has been compared to Rodman for her double-double prowess, was mentioned in Trinity’s heated interview about her father, as her presence alongside the former NBA champion may have hit a nerve with his daughter.

In an interview with “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper last Wednesday, Trinity Rodman revealed her feelings about a famous meetup between Reese and Rodman during the 2024 WNBA season, where the Chicago Sky rocked the NBA legend’s old-school Detroit Pistons jersey before a game.

“I’m not throwing shade at anybody, but I remember Angel Reese wore his jersey in one game, and there was a picture of them,” Trinity Rodman recalled.

“He’s really a famous basketball player, and like, style-wise, everything, (he was) inspiring. But I think as a daughter seeing that, it’s like, no shade, but damn I wish I was it,” she said.

Trinity’s statements on Reese were a snippet of a long interview in which she looked back at how her relationship with her father, Dennis, deteriorated throughout the years.

In the same interview, she also called the former Pistons and Chicago Bulls star an “alcoholic.”

She also spoke about her anger toward her father growing up and her frustration with Dennis Rodman’s unannounced appearance in one of her playoff games in 2021.

Despite a rough relationship with his father, Trinity Rodman has become a star in her own right, becoming a key figure in the U.S. women’s soccer national team, which won the gold medal in the 2024 Paris Olympics. She is also a one-time champion in the National Women’s Soccer League (NSWL) with the Washington Spirit.

Dennis Rodman apologizes to daughter Trinity for all his wrongdoings

After Trinity’s interview went viral, Dennis Rodman expressed his deepest apologies to his daughter on Instagram, acknowledging his mistakes as a father while hoping for forgiveness from his daughter.

“Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop…I will keep Trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

“I’m always here And tell you all the time rather it’s your voice or voicemail how proud I am. I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying pick up the phone you have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here Dennis RODMAN.”

In the latter part of the post, Rodman explained that he always watched her daughter’s games.
