Los Angeles Lakers (DR)
Clearly benefiting from preferential treatment, Bronny James will not travel with the G-League team, while he seems to need it.
Incomprehensible for a former NFL player, who does not understand this management.
The Bronny James case has been debated since he arrived in the NBA , and that is not likely to change in the future.
It must be said that the 55th pick in the draft does not show much to the Lakers at the moment, while the G-League season has started.
The young player should be with the South Bay Lakers currently, but the organization has decided otherwise.
Last week, it was announced that Bronny would only play home games, and would not travel with this “secondary” team.
The criticism is flying, even in other sports.
Bronny James and the Lakers heavily criticized
If Bronny wants to progress and reach his potential, he has to play, which is not a guarantee in the NBA right now.
Especially with the Angelinos’ strong start to the season. Former NFL player Ryan Clark therefore does not understand the decision of the franchise or agent Rich Paul.
According to him, even Bronny has to step in to fix this.
Ryan Clark : “As for Bronny James not traveling with the G-League team on the road… It’s starting to say, ‘Yeah, but they fly commercial to get around.’
What did Bronny do that made him too good to fly commercial? Pro sports has nothing to do with where you come from, how you were raised or what your parents had.”
“Pro sports is all about contribution. You can’t be treated differently because of your parents.
You’re treated differently because of your ability to contribute to the game.
If I’m Bronny James, I’m begging Rich Paul, I’m begging JJ Redick. I’m begging my dad, ‘Let me travel with the team.
Let me play somewhere where I can take six-plus shots in three games, so I can prove not only that I’m worthy of being on the team, but to myself.’”
It is clear that Bronny needs minutes and on a regular basis. Playing a few minutes a week while taking 4/5 shots is not a viable solution for the young player, who should be with the G-League team today. This saga is in any case far from over.
The Bronny James saga is a hot topic for debate among the Lakers, especially with this extremely dubious and player-friendly management. But is it really doing him a favor for his future? Probably not.
