NBA Bronny and Savannah James
Pierre Haessig / Everybody’s crazy (DR)

Often present at Lakers games, Savannah James especially follows her son Bronny’s performances with great attention.

LeBron’s wife does not hesitate to serve as his bodyguard, as she recently confided on her podcast.

Not sure that a rookie has ever had the same experience as Bronny James in the nearly 80 years of the NBA ‘s existence .

His arrival in the league was quite special in itself, he who was drafted by the Lakers this summer because his father LeBron is precisely the superstar.

Without much surprise and while he was coming off a rather bad college season at USC, the 55th pick of the 2024 class was immediately accused of favoritism.

Faced with this talk of nepotism within the Chosen One clan, the best response would have been to silence his detractors on the court.

Except that for the moment, it’s difficult to achieve that… In total, Bronny has played thirteen minutes of play in six NBA games, he who spends most of his time in the G League.

That said, the bizarre treatment reserved for him there has been just as controversial in recent days…

Savannah James Opens Up About Fans’ Treatment Of Bronny

Needless to say, the criticism continues to rain down on the eldest son of the four-time champion, who has long been accustomed to being subjected to rather harsh treatment from his detractors.

Fortunately for him, he can always count on his family to come to his aid, including in the middle of a match.

His mother Savannah also shared an anecdote on the subject recently, in her podcast:

Long story short, when I had the baby (his daughter Zhuri) on my lap, I was about to get up and go fight a guy, he gave Bronny the finger in the middle of a match.

You know when you say you have to be an adult and confront people face-to-face? So I went to him carrying Zhuri, tiny Zhuri.

What the hell was I supposed to do? I was talking to a guy like, “Yo, where are you giving my son the finger? Is that what we do at games now?”

He was like, “Oh no, I used to give my son that finger, that’s what we always do.” Okay, now you’re crazy. So you’re just giving your son the finger in the middle of a game? Weird, but okay.

LeBron is used to criticism and excessive expectations, having experienced that since his high school years.

Savannah therefore has nothing to worry about, but it’s another story regarding her offspring.

He clearly doesn’t have the same talent as his father and his arrival in the NBA could pose a problem for some, but don’t count on her to throw him to the lions.

On the contrary, she doesn’t hesitate to intervene.

Bronny James doesn’t have an easy life on the court, with fans regularly attacking him. However, it’s running the risk of upsetting the player’s mother and she’s not afraid to confront anyone to defend her child.
