Team USA point guard Stephen Curry with the gold medal

As France got closer and dreamed of a gold medal, Stephen Curry decided to come out of his hole and put in a series of rather exceptional shots. After Team USA’s victory, the Chef returned to this sickening sequence.

LeBron James , Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant were expected to deliver at the Paris Olympics, and unfortunately for the French team, they lived up to the occasion.

The King established himself as the metronome of Team USA and logically finished as the tournament’s MVP. KD, for his part, was content to punish his opponents’ defensive lapses and make clutch shots that hurt morale.

But in the semi-final against Serbia and then the final against the Blues, it was the Chef who put on his cape to lead his team to the gold medal.

He found his accuracy again at the best of times, notably by chaining 4 long-distance shots in the last minutes this Saturday.

Confident, he even allowed himself to ignore his two traveling companions to put in one of the greatest shots in the history of the Olympics:

Stephen Curry shocked by his Olympic exploits

With 24 points, 5 assists and 2 steals, Stephen Curry largely contributed to his team’s victory against Vincent Collet’s men.

In a press conference, he made a pretty crazy revelation about his XXL performance, since he also apparently surprises himself by making shots from another planet…

Every shot I take, I tell myself they’re going to go in. It was the final shot of a solid shooting streak.

All I saw was the basket, I didn’t even pay attention to who was in front of me.

Plus I knew there wasn’t much time left on the 24-second clock. But I have to say I was impressed. I do impress myself sometimes.

The first few games I had some pretty open shots, but they weren’t falling in. Coach told me to stay focused and I think that helped me in the last two games.

The game wanted me to take those shots and they fell in. The last three minutes were special.

The guys were warming me up, so I just lived the moment and enjoyed it.

With a terrifying 17/26 from 3-point range over the last two games, Stephen Curry woke up at the best of times… Without him, there’s no saying that Team USA would have beaten Serbia and then France. But hey, that’s what great players are all about.
