Angel Reese sends unapologetic message to critics ahead of Mercury clash

During the media session ahead of the Chicago Sky’s matchup against the Phoenix Mercury on Sunday, Angel Reese conveyed a message to critics and the narratives surrounding her rise to stardom in the WNBA.

“Just continue to be unapologetically me. … There’s a lot of negativity, but you see all these people yelling my name. They still love me and the positivity that gets me to wake up every day and still be me and still be positive. Through the negativity, I know there’s a lot of positivity with that,” Reese said.

To combat the negativity surrounding their players, the Chicago Sky and Angel Reese released a powerful ad as they resort to using AI to block hateful posts from reaching players’ feeds.

With the loss on Sunday, the Sky have slipped to an 11-16 record for the season as they maintain the eighth position in the standings.

They will look to get back on the winning track when they face the Connecticut Sun on Friday.
