NBA LeBron James and Marshawn Lynch

An American football player during his high school years, LeBron James also believes that he could have had a career in the NFL.

But what do the athletes of the league in question think? The iconic Marshawn Lynch has spoken out without reservation about the Laker.

At almost 40 years old, LeBron James is close to retirement. Suffice to say that given all his accomplishments, the winger has no reason to regret having started playing basketball.

But it should be remembered that in addition to shining on the courts in high school, the Chosen One was also very good on the grass as a receiver in American football.

On the NFL side, some like the famous Kelce brothers are also convinced that the four-time NBA champion could have made a career in this sport, particularly as a tight end (tall receiver).

An opinion also shared by Marshawn Lynch, who has just launched his podcast. The former iconic runner looked into the case of LBJ and even validated a comparison with a US football star:

Michael Robinson : Do you think LeBron would have been a great NFL player? I think so. Tight end or receiver? I don’t know if he could have played receiver.

Marshawn Lynch : No, not in the trenches anyway.

Michael Robinson : He would have been a Jimmy Graham type.

Marshawn Lynch : Well, he would have been a great tight end then. He just wouldn’t have been able to block anything.

Marshawn Lynch validates LeBron’s potential

On a purely physical level, the King is clearly built for the NFL, he measures 2m03 for about 120 kilos of sharp muscles.

Add to that his excellent hands and he could have done damage on reception, especially since he knows how to absorb shocks although those in the NBA are not of the same intensity. The debate is in any case raging:

How is it supposed to flop?

A 7’3″ guy who is faster than the rest of the league would be way more than “good” lol

LeBron James in American football? Marshawn Lynch thinks it would have been entirely possible, even if the Chosen One would have been terrible at protecting the quarterback and the runners. As for receptions, however, there would have been no problem.
