Angel Reese had female hip hop star Sexyy Red as a guest on Thursday’s episode of her “Unapologetically Angel” show. The Chicago Sky star promised to have the artist in one of her games next season during a fun exchange.

Reese asked Sexyy Red, also known as Janae Nierah Wherry, what position he played when he was a volleyball player. After she didn’t recall her position, Reese told her she needed to attend a WNBA game soon. (Start at 3:24)

“We gotta get you to a WNBA game,” Reese said.

“I’m going to invite you to a game next year and you’re going be courtside,” Reese promised.

When Reese asked her to stick to her word, Sexyy Red vowed that she’d be there no matter what.

“On my kids, stop playing. For real. I be supporting the women,” she said.

“You don’t be going to NBA games,” Reese said before they both burst into laughter.

“I be trying to support people. If they invite me, when people invite me, I don’t turn down invites. That’s what I’m saying, you invite me, so I’m coming,” Red added.

The conversation continued with Angel Reese asking Sexyy Red where they would go that night. The rapper replied by inviting the basketball star to the studio and even offered Reese to talk in one of her songs while Reese tried to name it “Ghetto Devil” or “Ghetto Angel.”

Angel Reese’s major sponsor strikes multi-year deal with WNBA

Before the interview with Sexyy Red was published, Angel Reese was in the news after her major sponsor, Reebok, secured a multi-year deal with the WNBA to become the league’s authorized footwear supplier.

The young forward shared her thoughts on this partnership, praising the company for supporting women in sports.

“Reebok has been such an amazing partner and advocate for women in sport,” said Angel Reese in the official press release. “As strong female athletes, we can use our platform to set an example for young players coming up in the sport. I’m happy to see the WNBA and Reebok supporting one another because I know that together we’re so much stronger and our reach is so much further.”

After a notable 2024 WNBA season, Angel Reese is set to play in the new Unrivaled 3×3 league in January.
