Angel Reese isn’t safe from criticism despite being one of the best rookies in the 2024 WNBA season.

The Chicago Sky’s young forward has made a strong impression since she made it to the league, establishing herself as a threat and future star in the W.

The former LSU star is set to debut in the NBA 2K25 video game, with fans already watching her first look in the upcoming new edition of the simulator.

On Thursday, an excerpt of the gameplay showed Reese getting a bucket after using a step-back jumper.

This short clip was enough for fans to mock Reese on social media, making it clear she’s not known for being a midrange shooter. Plenty of them had jokes about Reese, saying that it’s not realistic to see her making that type of shot.

“stepback jumper, boy stop playin LMAOOO,” one fan wrote.

“That shot hitting the side of the backboard irl 😭,” another fan tweeted.

“This is not realistic lmao,” another fan added.

Others said she’s never made that shot.

“She hasn’t done that in a game once her entire career,” one fan wrote.

Truth be told, Reese has attempted 10 3-pointers in 286 field-goal attempts, only making two of them.

Reese found her place in the world under the rim, as she’s made 102 of 220 field-goal attempts from less than 5 feet.

She’s attempted 25 shots from 5-9 feet, making three of them.

Reese has recorded four field-goal attempts from 10-14 feet, making one. As for 15-19 feet attempts, she’s shot 18, making five.

When is Angel Reese returning to action in the 2024 WNBA season?

After the All-Star and Olympic break finished, it’s time for the WNBA to resume play.

Angel Reese is one of the best players to watch in the second half of the season after a terrific first part. The Chicago Sky forward is set to make her return against the Phoenix Mercury on Thursday night.

Reese wasn’t called up to represent the USA Basketball women’s team in the 2024 Paris Olympics, meaning she’s rested after spending an entire year playing ball between college and WNBA.

Reese has played 24 games, averaging 31.7 minutes, 13.5 points, 11.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per outing. She’s shooting 40.2% from the field and 76.0% from the free-throw line.
