NBA Magic Johnson félicite Stephen Curry

Who is the greatest point guard in history? At this point, Magic Johnson and Stephen Curry are seriously competing for this unofficial title.

A former major league player has decided, he who was one of the Laker’s great adversaries in the 80s.

At 36, Stephen Curry finally holds his first Olympic gold medal. The point guard was participating in the competition for the first time in his career in Paris and it will most certainly also be the last.

Even though he has had a series of crazy seasons under the colors of Golden State, the former Davidson player is inevitably approaching retirement.

We can therefore seriously start to wonder about his all-time ranking in the hierarchy of point guards.

With his four championship rings, his two MVPs and his status as a basketball revolutionary, Baby Face finds himself logically compared to the immense Magic Johnson.

But for his part, Isiah Thomas still wanted to set the record straight during an interview with MLive.com:

Isiah Thomas in favor of Magic Johnson
I know who my No. 1 is: Magic Johnson. We’ve never seen anything like him.

There have been some with similarities, but there’s no one like Magic, so let’s not even have that discussion, because he’s No. 1. Now when you talk about smaller players like me and Curry who have won, it’s a good discussion and a good debate to have because we both won, but we did it differently.

Victor Wembanyama honest: “The only Olympic sport I would have a chance in is…

People can pick which one they like better, but we both won, so it’s just a matter of taste, and I’m just happy as a small guy to be in the discussion.

I’m fine with being in the discussion. But as for the number 1, it’s Magic Johnson.

With all due respect to the Chief, the Hall of Famer doesn’t seem ready to change his position.

It must be said that Zeke was one of Magic Johnson’s main opponents during his prime in the 80s, the two men even having faced each other twice in the NBA Finals.

Aside from that and despite major tensions between them for a long time, they are now very close friends.

Suffice to say that IT’s opinion is not entirely objective here, which some fans bitterly regret.

He is biased so his opinion is worthless

For Isiah Thomas, Magic Johnson remains the undisputed GOAT of point guards more than thirty years after his retirement

With all due respect to Stephen Curry who, however, has little to be ashamed of with his CV, he who revolutionized basketball like no one else before him.
