In a league where tempers can quickly flare, Stephen Curry manages to keep his cool in almost all circumstances.

However, he admits to having lost his cool following a remark concerning… his wife, Ayesha.

Rather than scattering and wasting his energy in arguments without any real interest, he prefers to conserve it in order to shine on the court.

Stephen Curry rarely finds himself in scuffles, even in an atmosphere as tense as that of the playoffs.

An atmosphere that he discovered in 2013 with the Warriors, during a first round win against Denver and during which he greatly shone:

However, in his podcast Heat Check, he recalled a heated episode that took place at the time at the Pepsi Center:

We had just lost and I was walking towards the tunnel when someone said something about Ayesha.

When I heard that, I felt compelled to fight back.

I was like, “Say it to my face!” and I came back to him and pointed at him.

People must have caught me because after the loss, I was already pissed off.

So when he said that about Ayesha, I was like, “I need to turn around and say that back to him.”

The fan kind of froze and Carl Landry stole his towel. It was phenomenal.

Understandably irritated after the Dubs’ loss in Game 5, Steph couldn’t let those words about his wife go, no matter what they were.

A tense scene that was memorable for a player who is usually so calm.

Usually unflappable in the context of an NBA game, Stephen Curry nevertheless vividly remembers losing his cool after Game 5 against Denver in 2013.

Moral of the story: it’s best not to try to tease the Chief by mentioning Ayesha.
