This is a big season that is shaping up for Victor Wembanyama with the Spurs.
Perhaps several trophies at the end for the Frenchman, but one that is already controversial among fans. But this may come as a surprise when you see some comments.
A presence in the playoffs if possible with the notable arrival of Chris Paul, but it is far from being a given with a crowded Western Conference.
Many franchises have the same ambition as the Texans, but anything is possible with Wembanyama’s ambition.
Wembanyama’s possible title that upsets fans
Already the favorite for the title of best defender of the year, Wemby is also considered one of the contenders for the MIP title, at least for ESPN experts.
But should a first draft pick, who is also coming off a crazy first season, be eligible for the title of best progress in the NBA? Fans have a strong opinion on the matter.

In 2019, Ja Morant won the trophy, proof that Wembanyama would not steal such a title.
Everything will depend on his statistics, however, the fans clearly prefer that the MIP be kept for players who are not considered stars.
That won’t stop Victor from being among the favorites.
Not if he comes back next season averaging 30 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists, 5 blocks, 3 steals.
This trophy lost its meaning when Ja unfortunately won it
If Victor Wembanyama has a crazy sophomore season, with his stats clearly up, there is no reason why he should not be among the favorites for the MIP trophy.
The Frenchman’s progress is expected, of course, but the NBA is simply looking to reward the best, not the most unexpected.
