Proud of his African roots, Francis Ngannou never hesitates to talk about the subject during his various interviews.
This is what he did recently, for example, revealing the strange surprise displayed by his interlocutors on this subject.
As soon as he signed with the PFL, he expressed his firm desire to develop MMA in Africa.
After having contributed to the gain in popularity of his discipline there, Francis Ngannou therefore positions himself as the leader of the African branch of his federation.
One of his deepest desires remains in particular to praise the merits of his land of origin and to dispel the negative image that accompanies it according to him.
Francis Ngannou Reveals the Improbable Prejudice That Sticks to His Skin
A recent guest on UFC legend Quinton Jackson and his Jaxxon Podcast, Ngannou discussed Africa’s bad reputation in the United States and elsewhere:
Francis Ngannou: You have to understand that in the Western worldview, any country that is not part of it is necessarily frowned upon.
Sometimes, when I come back to the United States from Cameroon, people ask me, “Oh, are you okay? Are you safe?” Why wouldn’t I be?! They tell me, “Yeah, because in Africa…” — First of all, you f*****d, you have to understand that there are 54 countries in Africa! You can’t even place Africa on a map. You don’t know anything about Africa and you dare tell me that Africa is dangerous?

All this because everything you see in the news about Africa is negative stuff.
You will never see positive news about a construction, an innovation or something like that.
Supposedly deceived by their media, Americans, and more generally “Westerners”, would therefore have surprising prejudices about the Predator and its continent:
Francis Ngannou: When I say that I come from Africa, people are surprised that I have never seen a lion! I’m like, “Do you think Africa is a zoo?!” (Laughs) They are surprised that I have never been injured by a lion!
No, unlike Khabib Nurmagomedov who fought a bear, Francis has never had to face a lion in his native country. Instead, he makes sure to promote it on his social networks each time he returns to the site:
Weighed down by the prejudices that pursue Africans in the Western world, Francis Ngannou would thus surprise his interlocutors by affirming that he has never seen, nor fought with a lion.
A lack of knowledge that he largely attributes to the media.
