“We thank Klay for his contributions and wish him the best as another chapter in his journey is written,” the Warriors‘ statement read in July, sending shivers down the spines of the Bay Area faithful.

Fans enjoyed watching the Splash Brothers light it up on the court, and it seemed like this duo would last forever.

However, the time came for them to part ways, and Klay Thompson left Steph Curry‘s side, after signing a 3-year $50 million deal with the Mavs.

Warriors’ team photographer, Noah Graham, recently posted a series of Instagram photos of Klay Thompson with the Warriors, along with a heartfelt caption, “Can’t imagine the #dubs without #11. Forever a legend in my book!! Keep shooting em brother.” The post was deeply touching, featuring images of China Klay with his teammates, celebrating after the Championships, while rocking his Warriors jersey, among other memorable moments.

The emotions even prompted Steph Curry to drop a comment on it.

“Damn 😢” the sharpshooter wrote. As you can imagine, after a 13-year stint with the Warriors, where Klay won 4 rings and set individual records alongside his fellow Splash Brother Stephen Curry, it was heartbreaking for both when the time finally came to become rivals.

Even though it’s been a while since Klay signed with the Mavs, it seems like Steph and the Warriors still haven’t quite gotten over the sting of his departure.

Fans noticed that Steph Curry recently changed his bio from “Guard for the @Warriors” to “Olympic Gold Medalist,” to “Believer. Father. Husband. Founder. Philanthropist. And…Olympic Gold Medalist. Philippians 4:13.” Does this mean Curry might be leaving the Warriors too? While there’s no definitive answer yet, it certainly raises questions about what’s next for him.

Though this might be tough for both sides, Klay Thompson will be joining another dynamic duo with the Dallas Mavericks.

Even with Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving on the team, they needed another scoring option, and Klay Thompson is a perfect fit for that role.

Klay Thompson’s entry and things are looking promising for the Dallas Mavericks

With Klay Thompson joining the Dallas Mavericks, they now have 3 dominant shooters, which will undoubtedly be a nightmare for other teams trying to guard these all-stars.

Kyrie’s dribbling and scoring veteran experience, combined with the Slovenian’s vision, versatility, and shooting ability, and now Klay’s 3-point accuracy and defensive skills—how is any team supposed to stop this squad?

If a team tries to double-team one of the stars while the trio is on the court, there’s a good chance one of them will be left open.

Along with these three, the Mavericks also have key players like PJ Washington, Daniel Gafford, and Jones Jr. to hold it down in the paint.

Even though the Dallas Mavericks have won only one championship—back in 2011 with the legend Dirk Nowitzki leading the way—it looks like they might have a real shot this time, despite Kyrie’s inconsistencies with form and Luka’s shaky fitness.

With all this talent on both ends of the court, could the Mavericks finally pull it off after 13 long years? What do you think?
