Not many would disagree that the WNBA has a new rising face of the league in the form of Chicago Sky star Angel Reese. And that’s pretty obvious as in her debut season itself, she got a call to feature in the WNBA All-Star team. Well, the former LSU standout who has been eyeing the ROTY award this season has now made an off-court headline, dropping another exciting personal milestone, which also teases something coming up from her brand collaboration in the near future.
The 22-year-old took to her X account and wrote, “4 MILLION ON INSTAGRAM & TIK TOK🥹💋 i love my reese’s pieces real bad!! some special things are coming VERY SOON! stay tunedddd🤭.” While it’s just a celebratory post about gaining followers and crossing a big mark, the mention of Reese’s pieces has made it even more fascinating.
Earlier, it was reported that Reese and the candy company Hershey’s might be in talks of negotiating a sponsorship deal for one of her favorite candies, and this post now hints that it can be official anytime soon, making Reese even richer. However, it’s not the first time Reese has shown her love for her favorite candies from the Hershey’s brand.
The Reese’s Candy saga kicked off back in June after the Sky’s victory over Indiana Fever. The Chi-Town Barbie playfully tweeted, asking, “Reese’s pieces where yall at?????” Her supporters quickly started speculating a connection, and the candy’s official X account only added to the excitement by responding to her tweet with, “Where are we? Just following our favorite player.” However, Reese had previously also showcased her love for candies in an even bigger way.
Reese revealed that she had hired a renowned shoe artist, Marvin Baroota, who had her sneakers customized with peanut butter cups earlier this season. Even, a Hershey’s spokesperson couldn’t help but admit to TMZ Sports, “Reese x Reese does sound quite tasty.” While Hershey’s deal is still in the speculation phase, the rookie has been successful in bagging another deal.
Angel Reese’s partnership with Reebok
It was Reebok with whom Reese teamed up in a major way last year. Considering her the perfect fit to represent their brand, Reebok wanted her to be the face of their lifestyle, fashion, and performance-related side. Reebok also jumped on board to support Angel Reese’s initiative, the Angel C. Reese Foundation, which aims to empower girls and women through sports, education, and financial literacy.
Interestingly, Reese didn’t just make Reebok a random pick. One of the driving factors was that the brand went through a makeover, and appointed legendary Shaquille O’Neal as the leader in charge of their basketball front. And he was not just a basketball icon for Reese, rather she has always looked at him as her mentor.
Well, Angel Reese was already worth a cool $3 million last year, while her name, image, and likeness alone were valued at a whopping $1.4 million! One can only imagine what’s gonna happen now that she might be teaming up with Hershey’s. With her star power skyrocketing and her WNBA career just moving uphill, it looks like Reese’s bank account is about to get a major upgrade as well.
