Angel Reese missed layups but they get increasingly more ridiculous pic.twitter.com/qf5Ob4RDkU

When this tweet popped on my feed late last night I was in shock. We all know that Angel Reese isn’t the greatest shooter around the rim, but a full video of all her misses is nasty work.
Then I saw….the video was 8 minutes and 30 seconds long.
I knew that the account that tweeted this was not the original creator, as it’s a clear aggregator account…so I got to looking:
The video dives into some shocking stats on Angel Reese. Yes, she is averaging 13.5 points per game and 12 rebounds per game, but after watching this video…that could be better.
-Below 50% on FG inside 5 feet.
-Missed 109 layups (not counting blocks)
-13% on FG between 5 and 9 feet (most shocking to me)
The video wasn’t all hating Reese, instead pointing out that her shot selection is quite bad. Is this because she wants to stat pad her own rebounds? A theory a lot of fans have floated, and may have some legs considering she averages 4.8 offensive rebounds per game. Angel has always been an elite offensive rebounder, though, as she averaged 6.4 per game in her junior year at LSU, while shooting over 50% from the field (she shoots 40% now).
Now, the question everyone is debating: is Angel Reese good? The answer, without a doubt, is yes.
-She ranks in the top 20 of win shares in the WNBA
-Just outside the top 30 in PER
-Ranks 20th in RAPTOR Wins per Neil Paine
-Ranks 34th in RAPTOR +/-
Those are all very good stats for the rookie…and if you were wondering, they are all better than Caitlin Clark (who had a rough start to the season).
