Anthony Davis and Co’s Trust on JJ Redick Questioned as Google Search Leak From Former NBA Star Reveals Concerning Assumption on Lakers Activity

LeBron James recently made a bold claim: He said he wouldn’t play until the wheels fell off. But now it looks like the wheels are indeed falling off–not for him but for the Lakers, certainly. But this time the blame was not on him for a change. With another loss on the ledger, it was time for the voices to rise against Anthony Davis. And those weren’t lenient by any stretch of the imagination. The boldest criticism came from FanDuel’s Run It Back.
If there are two things a player can control in the league, according to panelist Lou Williams, it’s their energy and their effort. Unfortunately, both were missing last night among the Lakers’ players. The ex-NBA star knows pretty well that not every night will go smoothly. “Some nights you’re gonna be off whatever your game plan is, whatever your strategy is, it may not work,” Lou Will explained, describing the multiple scenarios. “Offensively, you might be off, can’t make shots. You can blame games on that. Some nights you can even blame it on defense. You can blame all of these things. The one thing you can control as a player night in and night out is what, Chandler?” he asked his co-host and former NBA peer Chandler Parsons, who replied, “Effort.”
That’s something that AD and Co. lacked on Wednesday night, he claimed and further stated, “It looked like these guys quit on JJ Redick. They quit on themselves, quit on everything that they had going.” The Heat were the dominant side from the beginning, leading in every quarter. Meanwhile, the analysts felt that the LA side didn’t put in the necessary effort. Anthony Davis, who has been putting up impressive numbers in most games, was one of the lowest contributors with an 8-7-5 stat line for which he shouldered blame. He struggled with his shooting, and so did the others. It didn’t seem like they were pushing for a victory. Instead, as Lou pointed out, it looked like they had given up on themselves and their head coach.
Lou also believes it’s not just about this game, but it will be constant in future games as well. While the 38-year-old mainly highlighted their lack of effort, Parsons made a shocking statement that could turn heads.

Whether it was the Lakers getting wide-open dunks or the lack of challenging efforts at the rim, the way the Lakers were player it all appeared like a warm-up drill to Parsons. Following the Lakers’ early success, Parsons thought they would make some noise this season, but it didn’t take long for that thought to be erased. Watching Anthony Davis jog instead of tracking Jimmy Butler, while his teammates showed little effort to stop the ball, made the former Mavs star wonder where the team might have spent the previous night.
“I literally found myself googling last night what club was open on Tuesday at Miami because the Lakers went. That’s the only thing that I can think of is that they got super lit the night before, and they just didn’t care,” Parsons stated. He believed that since the team wouldn’t visit Miami again for the rest of the season, they might have let it all go. That was the only explanation he could come up with to justify their lackluster performance, no wait, “pathetic performance, not even performance” as Parsons put it.
After the 134-93 defeat on Wednesday, AD owned up to his mistakes and vowed to do better. That’s exactly what the entire team needs to do. JJ Redick can’t bring the effort for them, only they can make the necessary adjustments. It’s up to them to step up if they want to get back on track.
