LeBron and Savannah James’ life may seem glittery from the outside. However, only a few understand how difficult it is to stick together through thick and thin. Sometimes, that also means missing out on major events just to support their partners. A glimpse of this was witnessed on the Everybody’s Crazy podcast.
Like every other episode, Savannah James and April McDaniels took a call from an unknown number. However, within seconds, Savannah recognized the voice on the other end. It was her husband, LeBron. It was a surprise call for the special episode. April immediately fired off a question referencing something Savannah had brought up on the episode that they never had a regular Christmas because of LeBron’s career. And eventually misses time at home almost “every single Christmas,” according to the missus. Unprepared for the situation, the Lakers star struggled to recall whether he had played on Christmas Day every year since his rookie season.
“I definitely played there in my rookie year, and I know for sure over the last 10 years, I’ve played on it,” LeBron said. April then proposed, “When you retire, we’re having a lit Christmas. We all sleeping over.” On hearing this, Savannah’s face lit up and her smile stretched from ear to ear. “We waking up at 5 AM. It’s gonna be lit,” April added. LeBron too seemed excited for the plan. Crushing the hearts of millions of fans, the 39-year-old said, “I’m looking forward to that. I mean, if we’re gonna have a late Christmas, why even go to sleep the night before.”
It’s quite evident that his family has made innumerable sacrifices over the years, especially Savannah, who has been by his side through it all, even if it meant missing out on traditional Christmas celebrations with her husband and children. While it’s unknown how long she’ll have to wait for LeBron to retire so they can finally enjoy a proper holiday routine, that day will certainly be a joyous one for the James family. However, it will undoubtedly be a bittersweet moment for his fans.

After the fun session, LeBron asked what topics the ladies discussed in the episode. April replied that Savannah talked about a gift he had given her on Christmas, which made her emotional.

Earlier in the episode, when April asked Savannah if she had ever received a gift that made her say, “Oh my God!,” Mrs. James confirmed she had. After bursting into mysterious laughter, she added, “I can’t. I’m not saying what it was. But I have, and it almost brought me to tears.”
April further inquired whether the tears were good or bad. “Good tears,” Savannah admitted giving the credit to LeBron, “Shout out to my husband. Great gift.” Wondering what made the gift so special that it almost left her choking with excitement? It’s because she wasn’t expecting it. Before opening the gift, she thought to herself, “It’s something I’ve put out into the universe, but I never thought it would come to me.” But once she saw what was inside the box, the 38-year-old claimed, “I was like [surprised]… I was so happy.”
LeBron might not spend Christmas with his family due to his NBA responsibilities, but he certainly knows how to keep Savannah on her toes, making her feel like she’s on top of the world.
