On September 15, Jake Paul declared himself the face of boxing after defeating Mike Tyson. The Problem Child made sure to let everyone know that in terms of actual numbers, he is now the fighter with the biggest fight in current boxing history. According to Netflix, almost 108 million people tuned in to watch the fight live, making it a historic venture.

El Gallo took it one step further when he abashedly laid down a challenge to Canelo Alvarez. Paul stated that only he could provide the payday that ‘Cinnamon’ wants at this stage. Things got heated up when a few weeks ago, Canelo discredited the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson event as “entertainment” and straight-up refused to face the former YouTuber, stating, “I’m not interested.” During the recently concluded MVP Prospects 10 event, Paul and MVP co-founder Nakisa Bidarian answered Canelo while putting Paul above the likes of LeBron James and Shohei Ohtani.

Can’t replace El Gallo

During the press conference, a reporter from FightHype asked Paul about how Canelo is discrediting everything he has achieved. Paul mentioned that discrediting others is the nature of their sport, and that is how fights are sold. “I mean that’s that’s the landscape we’re in. It’s like everyone just trying to talk s**t,” stated Paul.

Well, when it comes to trash-talking, there are very few who can match Jake Paul’s skills. He has made a whole career by riling his opponents up. However, as an expert himself in this department, the 27-year-old knows that everyone is trying to “peacock El Gallo for their position,” and no one can replace him. However, in a surprising move, the former YouTuber decided to take the high road, claiming that he doesn’t “want to just create a back and forth of nonsense.”

Jake Paul just made sure to remind Canelo Alvarez once again that he has the “biggest fight in boxing history. Numbers tell the truth of that. So people can say whatever they want but let me see you do more numbers and then we can talk.”

Nakisa Bidarian, the MVP co-founder who was sitting beside the 11-1 boxer, took the mic to further hype up his partner. In the process, the duo somehow managed to drag in the likes of LeBron James and Shohei Ohtani to showcase Paul’s dominance in boxing.

Bidarian mentioned, “Jake Paul made $12 million in his third fight,” referring to either his fight against Ben Askren in April 2021 or against Tyron Woodley in August 2021. MVP’s co-founder further added, “No boxer or MMA fighter in history has made that in their third, fourth, fifth, sixth fight. No athlete in history in their third game as a professional has made 12 million,” claiming that the pull of Jake Paul is unmatched.

This is where El Gallo once again chimed in and outlined, “That includes you, Shohei Ohtani.” For the uninformed, Shohei Ohtani is the star pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers in MLB. Drafted from the Nippon Professional Baseball league of Japan, Ohtani inked the richest contract in MLB history when he signed a 10-year deal worth $700 million with the Dodgers. However, before being signed by the Dodgers, both when playing for the Angels as well as in the NPB, Ohtani was not earning as high as Jake Paul for a single match.

Bidarian then claimed that no other athlete, including LeBron James, had such an impact on their sport as Jake Paul has on boxing. He also put down Canelo Alvarez and claimed that the Mexican could only dream of earning such amounts when he was new to the sport. ” If you look at his annual contract when he first signed his first, there’s no way. Not LeBron, not Shohei, not any footballer, basketball player, baseballer, golfer. That was his third fight. Nothing comes close. What did Canelo make in his third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eight, ninth, tenth, eleventh, twelfth, twentieth fight? Not even close,” exclaimed Bidarian boldly.

No one has indeed influenced boxing in the past few years like Jake Paul. In fact, in an era where boxing was termed as finished, he has done something that others can’t even fathom. If Canelo Alvarez somehow agrees to one fight against Jake Paul before retirement, we might witness a spectacle like never before. Let us know your thoughts down below.
