Angel Reese did all she could for the Chicago Sky on Sunday night as the rookie put up a monster 19-point, 20-rebound double-double.

It was far from enough, though, as the Phoenix Mercury made easy work of Chicago in what turned out to be an 86-68 blowout win for the home team.

Despite the heavy loss, Reese still made sure to take the time to show her appreciation to the fans who came out to watch her at the Footprint Center in Phoenix.

One young supporter, in particular, was sitting courtside with a big Angel Reese sign that said that the Sky star “will always be the All-Star of my heart.”

After the game, Reese approached the young girl to give her a warm hug and to snap a quick photo with her.

This prompted a heartfelt reaction from the Sky as they highlighted Reese’s effort to constantly connect with her fans.

Reese wasn’t exactly in a jovial mood after the final buzzer, which is perfectly understandable after being on the wrong end of an embarrassing blowout loss.
