Reigning world champion Germany entered the Paris Olympic Games with enormous ambition.

With Dennis Schröder still as good when he puts on the national team jersey and the Wagner brothers in top form, the Nationalmannschaft could well establish itself as the number one outsider for LeBron James and Team USA.

For their opening match last Saturday, the Germans did not hold back, crushing Japan by 20 points thanks to a dominant interior sector.

The Wagners and Daniel Theis combined for 55 points and 18 rebounds between them, while the flag bearer of the delegation was content to organize his team’s play with 13 points and 12 assists.
