Are we even surprised anymore? It was only last year LeBron James broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record, a feat many believed would never be achieved. And earlier this year, King James became the sole member of the 40,000-point club. But he is not done! Continuing with his habit of shattering records, LBJ added another record to his name as he overtook Kareem, yet again!
Early in tonight’s encounter against the Kings, LeBron became the league’s minutes leader with a whopping 57,447 minutes played. Sure enough, The Captain previously held the record for 35 years as he finished his career with 57,446 minutes spent on the hardwood.

NBA RECORD ‼️
Well, it took James 1,517 played games to achieve this feat. Addressing his longevity and the record, he said before the game, “It’s just a commitment to the craft and to the passion and love I have for the game… I didn’t take much time in the offseason, no matter if I was making the 10 Finals appearances back-to-back and just always trying to keep my body in tip-top shape.”
Yes, LeBron’s dedication to the game is unprecedented as he just returned from an MVP campaign in the Olympics and is still giving it his all on the court during the regular season. Obviously, fans are left in awe of his greatness after his latest feat with one fan writing, “This will probably be LeBron’s most unbreakable record when it’s all said and done” calling him “LeGOAT.”
This might very well be true because LBJ still has a few good years left and can easily take this record to new heights. Moreover, there is no active player even in the vicinity of this record as the following three players on the list: Karl Malone, Dirk Nowitzki, and Kevin Garnett have retired.
Top Kareem Abdul-Jabbar records LeBron James has broken as NBA World claims he “Will Play Forever”
Although LeBron’s latest record might be unbreakable, it will not go down as the biggest record he has broken of Kareem. That title goes to the scoring record because it highlights LBJ’s longevity and consistency. As of now, a player would have to average over 25 points for twenty straight years without missing a game to have a sniff of this record. Seems impossible, doesn’t it? Moreover, James adds to that tally, averaging 22.8 points this season.
Because of his prolonged dominance, he has garnered respect from people who are not even his fans as one netizen wrote, “I’m a neutral LeBron guy but damn this dude impressively gonna have just about every record once he plays til he 45”, while another said, “I’m surprised he didn’t already have this record honestly.”
Playing his record 22 season, LBJ is on top of many such lists. He even broke Kareem’s record for most field goal attempts.
Sure enough, many fans are left in awe of James’ longevity, even claiming that he needs to be studied, “LeBron spends $1.5 million a year on his body. How he’s playing at such a high level for 22 seasons needs to be studied.” Yes, James spends a massive sum on his fitness, but it’s his constant dedication and willingness to sacrifice that keeps him going season after season. Meanwhile, one fan naturally said, “LeBron will play forever I’m convinced.”
Yes, that is an overstatement. But, King James seems to be the only player who has successfully defied Father Time and can easily keep playing until he is 45 or even older. How many records do you think he will have to his name by then?
