There might not be two other WNBA stars that have captured the attention of the world more than Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark and Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese. Both Clark and Reese have taken the professional world by storm, and they will officially be released as playable characters in the new NBA 2K25.
While fans worldwide wait for the new basketball game to drop on Sep. 6, developer 2K has released the first images of Clark and Reese.
The up-close screenshots of the game showcase Clark and Reese in their respective team jerseys along with faces that look as intense as they do during game time.
With how popular both young WNBA stars have become through these past few months, it’s no shock that 2K wanted to get in on showcasing this dynamic basketball duo.
Clark and Reese are both vying to win the coveted Rookie of the Year award in the WNBA, but Clark has been the favorite for months.
Clark is currently averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Reese is currently averaging 13.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.
Both Clark and Reese have made cases for the award, and there are plenty of games left for either rookie to run away with it.
There are around 16 games left for each team, and it will be interesting to see if the Sky or Fever make the playoffs. The Sky are currently 10-14 and in the final eighth spot for a playoff appearance.
The Fever are 11-15 and are in seventh for a playoff spot. The ROTY nod could go to the player that helps their team make the playoffs.
Despite the end of the season award, Clark and Reese have been setting records in the WNBA. Clark became the first player to record 29 points, 13 assists, five rebounds, five 3-pointers, five steals, and three blocks in a game.
Clark also set the record for most assists in a game for the WNBA with 19. Reese also has an impressive WNBA record, as she now owns the record for the most consecutive double-doubles in league history with 16.
Both Clark and Reese have made cases to land ROTY. For big fans, they can live out those dreams by playing as both rookies when NBA 2K25 drops on Sep. 6.
