Jennifer Aniston may be one of the most tremendously successful actresses in Hollywood (what with the massive fame her immaculate performance in the superhit fan-favorite sitcom Friends gifted her with), but she is also often at the center of a lot of controversy and backlash from fans worldwide. Just like lately, when she has once again seemingly stolen the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, as per what fans have to say.

This recent backlash has come to her following her comment on the explicit’ love scene she shared with Jon Hamm in her hit show titled ‘The Morning Show’ where she made the mistake of refusing to have an intimacy coordinator on set as it was already ‘awkward enough’ for her.

Out of all the times she got into controversy for something, this time, it was for a comment on intimacy coordinators that she made while discussing how she prepared for her intimate scene with Jon Hamm in The Morning Show.

When asked during a recent interview with Variety about the same, Jennifer Aniston’s initial response was:

“Having Mimi [Leder] there, you’re protected. I never felt uncomfortable. Jon [Hamm] was such a gentleman, always — I mean every move, every cut, ‘You OK?’ It was also very choreographed. That’s the beauty of Mimi and our gorgeous editor, the music and lighting. So, you don’t prepare.”

However, everything took a turn for the worse for fans as the Friends alum continued speaking and landed a comment that fans took a bit too harshly.

“They asked us if we wanted an intimacy coordinator. I’m from the olden days, so I was like, ‘What does that mean?’ They said, ‘Where someone asks you if you’re OK,’ and I’m like, ‘Please, this is awkward enough!’ We’re seasoned — we can figure this one out. And we had Mimi there.”

While her response wasn’t something that stinging, fans don’t seem to be letting Jennifer Aniston go easy anytime soon as they surround her with immensely brutal backlash and controversy following her comment.

Jennifer Aniston was already knee-deep into trouble as soon as this interview surfaced and fans became aware of her comment.

On the one hand, while some of her fans can’t seem to understand why the actress is facing so much backlash over something that she was given a choice for, others, in the meanwhile, are too enraged to let her go easily for saying everything she said. Taking to X, here’s what they’re saying:

i hate this! rejecting an offer of an intimacy coordinator sends the message that it’s only needed if 1) you’re difficult, or 2) you think the other person is a creep. Someone has A-list as jennifer aniston refusing one doesn’t do any favors for other actors. https://t.co/Fj4sp4olft

jennifer aniston officially on my list of enemies for kicking off another round of intimacy coordinator discourse. i will not forgive easily.

“we’re seasoned”, honey so was Harvey Weinstein, let these people do their jobs

Would you do a fight without a fight coordinator? No? Cool, just checking.

Pick me behavior. 🙄
Jennifer, intimacy coordinators do more than ask if you’re ok. And it’s wild you wouldn’t want one. They have made the industry exponentially better.

And she says this proudly🤦🏻‍♀️
It’s okay if you don’t want one, it doesn’t mean there shouldn’t be one.

How insulting.

Ah yes let’s put the stress back on makeup and costumes instead of having a professional helping with the scene. Great idea 👍 are you going to be paying extra for all the emotional labour we’ll be doing on top of our regular work?

Considering all these comments, fans seem to be really, really pissed off at Jennifer Aniston, and judging from the intensity, it seems this furious behavior won’t be dying down anytime soon.
