LeBron James is currently enjoying his break after winning his third gold medal with Team USA while bagging the Final MVP award at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
The LA Lakers star recently teamed up with DraftKings for their first TV ad featuring comedian Kevin Hart.
The commercial showcases James in a playful mood, joking about receiving an offer from the NFL.
“I got an NFL offer. Don’t play with me. I think I’m going to take it,” James said.
However, Hart isn’t one to let that slide without a bit of roasting. He quickly steps in to poke fun at James, questioning whether he’s too old to start a new career in football.
“Aren’t you a little too old to be playing football? Wait, what? They want somebody that can run at 40, not somebody that is 40,” Hart said.
‘When the coach calls your number, you’re going to say Bingo! How are you going to celebrate a win? You’re going to give everybody butterscotch candy?
Probably out of your pocket with no wrappers on it. You’re just going to give them raw candy,” Hart said in the commercial.
When Did LeBron James Partner With DraftKings?
LeBron James officially partnered with the Boston-based sports betting and fantasy company DraftKings in January of last year. DraftKings CEO and co-founder Jason Robins warmly welcomed James into the fold, expressing the excitement of the entire organization.
“Welcoming one of the most influential and greatest athletes of all time, LeBron James, to the DraftKings family is an absolute honor and privilege,” he said.
“We look forward to working with a passionate sports fan who shares the same competitive mindset that echoes throughout the walls at DraftKings while delivering exciting engagement opportunities to our customers and his loyal fanbase for years to come,” he added.
The Lakers star is in the twilight of his career. But seeing his latest commercial, it seems James isn’t done entertaining fans just yet.
