NBA (DR) / Gil’s Arenas (DR)
At the helm of his podcast for many months, Gilbert Arenas has made a habit of delivering viral, and sometimes even (very) controversial, remarks.
Recently, he focused on the case of LeBron James with a rather singular analysis.
At a time when NBA media and podcasts are multiplying, logic would dictate that the diversity of topics covered would increase.
And yet, one man continues to monopolize the attention of analysts and other consultants, namely LeBron James .
It must be said that the latter has not been idle this summer, having competed in the Paris Olympic Games with Team USA and coming away with a gold medal and a tournament MVP title.
Gilbert Arenas’ New Viral Outburst on LeBron James
As he approaches his 40th birthday, LeBron can be satisfied with having performed a most remarkable last dance in selection.
Indeed, in addition to winning his third Olympic title, he has positioned himself as an essential link in his team, which is nevertheless made up of the biggest American stars in the NBA .
But beyond his still intact domination, his appearance in Paris has caused a lot of talk:
Theory: LeBron didn’t dye his beard because he wanted to win gold, be voted MVP, and have the moment etched in history with photos that could show how old he was when he did it.
Whether true or not, this speech has in any case found an echo in the one delivered in recent hours by Gilbert Arenas in his Gil’s Arena :
Gilbert Arenas: All it takes is one drunken night on a road trip to Miami for LeBron to become a grandfather. He goes to bed a little too early and the next day Bronny shows up and says, “Hey Dad, there’s your grandson!” I’m serious. That’s what his appearance tells me right now. He doesn’t look young at all anymore.
While we wait to see if LBJ will have a full brown beard by the start of the NBA season, his performance level has remained unchanged this summer. His relative old age still cannot be seen on the court, which must satisfy the Lakers.
It remains to be seen whether they will be able to take advantage of his extreme longevity one last time by offering him a final championship ring.
For Gilbert Arenas, LeBron James has never seemed closer to retirement… or at least to grandfather status. That doesn’t stop the King from still representing an immense threat on the court for his opponents.
