When Bronny James got his place in the Los Angeles Lakers alongside his legendary father, LeBron James, the NBA community put forward the narrative of nepotism. And no matter how much the front office justified Bronny James’ draft pick in the second round, it might be a result of favoritism. However, a part of the NBA community supported the fact, considering the innate potential that the 19-year-old carries. Recently, Fox Sports analysts took it a step forward as they made an assumption about the future of Bronny in the NBA and on the global stage.

Discussing the world of the 2028 LA Olympics and future NBA, Fox analyst Veejay Huskey stated, “If LeBron has any power with Team USA basketball, …in 2028, Bryce and …if Bronny is a serviceable NBA player, …if you think LeBron ain’t got swag and got pull for Team USA, he’s not going to get his son on Team USA? Come on, man! So that’ll be another you know feather in a hat.” The assumption was so stretched that even Huskey’s co-host Martin Weiss had to jump in between the statements to negate the possibility. Yet, Huskey did not stop with his presumption.

Moreover, he added reasoning for his belief in LeBron James as Huskey filled in, “I’m just saying the guy is powerful, and he likes to put his hands on everything. I’m not knocking him…If it were my son, I’d be doing the same thing. I’ve always stood on that side of the LeBron-Bronny argument.” That’s why Fox analysts had a probable belief for the James siblings.

Nonetheless, it is a far-stretched claim for now, considering that Bryce is not even in the NBA yet. But since it was expectedly the last Olympics for their father, LeBron James, who is going to don the main roster jerseys in 2028?

If not for LeBron James or his sons, who has got a shot at Team USA in the 2028 Olympics?

Looking ahead to plan the next gold, analyst Huskey had no idea of what the next Team USA might look like. However, Martin had an opinion on that as he said, “Jayson Tatum, Anthony Edwards, Bam Adebayo, Anthony Davis and Devin Booker.” However, Weiss later realized that AD was already 31. Considering the Lakers star’s injury woes, he might not fit well with the next team. That’s why he later added the bench players from the Paris Olympics to his list. It included Tyrese Haliburton and Derrick White.

Martin did not limit himself to just the starting roster, as he also detailed on the bench stating names, “Ja Morant, maybe Cooper Flagg, Paolo Banchero,… Chet Holmgren.” Notably, Cooper Flagg is the supposed no.1 pick for the 2025 draft class. And Paolo Banchero has been coming off a great season, averaging 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. So, these prospects will definitely be an asset at the upcoming Olympics.

Well it will not be full of superstars as it was this time at Paris Olympics. However, change is the rule of nature. And after what the Dream Team 2.0 and LeBron James have done for their nation, it deserves a fine rest for all the athletes. Who will you want to add to the 2028 starter list?
