Kevin Durant is reportedly adding to his ownership portfolio that will put him in league with the likes of Team USA teammate LeBron James, as well as former NFL stars J.J. Watt and Tom Brady.

Durant helped the U.S. men’s American basketball team win gold at the Olympic Games in Paris, France, but it appears he will be leaving The City of Light with more than a medal.

As reported by Romain Molina and confirmed by soccer transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the Phoenix Suns forward is set to purchase a minor ownership stake in Ligue 1 outfit Paris Saint-Germain.

Should the deal go through, Durant will join the aforementioned trio as another high-profile athlete with an interest in European soccer. James owns a minority stake in English soccer club Liverpool FC while Watt and Brady have ownership in Burnley FC and Birmingham FC respectively.

Actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney also famously bought Wrexham FC in 2020 and enjoyed the club’s recent progression to a higher division in English soccer this year.

Kevin Durant Could Help Broker A Massive Deal For French Football In The United States

The reports did not disclose the percentage of the club Kevin Durant will own, but the development should see the French side grow its brand in the United States.

The move could also help secure a Ligue 1 TV rights deal in the U.S., as the French league does not currently have a broadcast partner in America.

The two-time NBA champion also co-owns a pickleball team along with Rich Kleiman, Drake, Michael B. Jordan, and Steve Stoute.

With PSG set to compete in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup in the U.S. in 2025, Durant will likely be looking on as a proud owner.
