WNBA stars Angel Reese (left), A'Ja Wilson (center) and Caitlin Clark (right)

In a WNBA season marked by the media tidal waves caused by Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese, it’s hard to make a place for yourself.

However, that’s what A’ja Wilson has managed to do in a very beautiful way, whose recent comments are controversial.

Despite the new competition she faces, she remains the league’s leader. A’ja Wilson has indeed been able to resist the emergence of Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark and is heading towards a third MVP title.

With one game still to play, the Aces’ leader has not only already seized the record for points scored in a season — thus leading to a viral reaction from Bam Adebayo — but also the record for rebounds.

Did A’Ja Wilson Target Caitlin Clark and/or Angel Reese?

Invited by Callie Lawson-Freeman to react to this new historic mark at a press conference, Wilson then gave a response that has been much talked about ever since:

A’Ja Wilson: What? Rebounds record? Oh, uh, that’s cool. I’m not looking to get any at all costs, you know, so it’s not something that’s always on my mind.

A final sentence that, for many, could represent a criticism of Clark or Reese. Indeed, while the Indiana point guard had chased a final rebound against the Sparks to secure a triple-double, the Chicago center has also often been criticized for this.

Now it remains to be seen whether this was indeed a tackle and what her target was, something that Internet users are still struggling to determine:

Is this supposed to target CC or Angel?

Ok Wilson, no need to jump on the CC and Reese hate train.

With her rather phlegmatic reaction to her single-season rebounding record, A’ja Wilson may have sent a loose ball toward Caitlin Clark and/or Angel Reese. However, only she can answer this question that fans are asking.
