Travis Kelce doesn’t get credit for it, but he is a very smart man when it comes to football IQ.
Founded in 2021 by NFL Tight Ends George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Greg Olsen, Tight End University ensures that the talent at the position continues to grow while being led by some of the best.
The camp started by George Kittle, Travis Kelce, and Greg Olsen continues to grow, and now we are finding out why.
A video recently came out showing Kelce explaining how he reads defensive coverage from the event in Nashville over the summer.
His explanation not only had fans in awe of his brillance but many are given him much more respect for what he does on the field.
“I genuinely appreciate a thorough explanation of what goes on in his head…,” one fan said.
“How could you read the coverage, make a decision, react, and make the catch within seconds??

It is all about hard work and using your talents to the maximum. He has probably trained and practiced for tens of thousands of hours at his craft. He is also an amazing athlete, and that takes his hard work into another level. Behind that smile and laugh is a an apex competitor.…

It’s not teachable or EVERY TE in the NFL would have stats like Travis.🤷🏻♀️ It’s intuitive & speaks to a highly developed physical/body awareness & football IQ. The decisions he makes are in fractions of seconds. Anything to get open.😁❤️🏈🎉

And who says he isn't smart.

This all seems to come to him so naturally. So I agree: very hard to teach or to explain. Because he does it instinctively (Jason has mentioned this several times), so in order to teach it, he has to try and break it down into understandable steps. Not easy.

He's intuitive in a way I think can be learned but not taught, but the most interesting there is what he says about what the linebackers will be thinking. That's what they can learn from him – the WORK of being a student of the game. He knows every position almost as well as TE

According to The Sun, among the many players who showed up at the event were Lions’ Sam LaPorta, Eagles’ Dallas Goedert, Albert Okwuegbunam, and C.J. Uzomah, Jaguars’ Evan Engram, Bills’ Tre’ McKitty, Vikings’ Shaun Beyer, Robert Tonyan, and Josh Oliver, and Saints’ Foster Moreau and Juwan Johnson.
Kansas City Chiefs Handed Travis Kelce Unexpected New Role for NFL Season
Kelce is one of the best tight ends in the NFL and a key reason why the team has won three Super Bowl titles.
Now, he might be used somewhere else on the field in 2024.
Kansas City Chiefs special teams coach Dave Toub unveiled a surprising role for superstar tight end Travis Kelce, who is set to take on an unexpected position as the team’s emergency backup long snapper.
Toub mentioned that Kelce “would’ve been dynamite” in the long-snapper role.
#Chiefs Travis Kelce is the team's emergency backup long snapper. Since he was already out of the preseason game against the Lions, the team turned to Noah Gray.
Special teams coordinator Dave Toub said Kelce "would've been dynamite" as a long snapper.
