ith the end of the Eras tour marking her latest of Taylor Swift’s remarkable accomplishments, one fan is taking it way back to the beginning with their recent purchase.
Before Taylor became a beloved pop princess, she left an indisputable mark on country music, debuting with her self-titled album in 2006. Her breakthrough hit, Tim McGraw, became a radio success as young fans resonated with her songwriting. “But when you think Tim McGraw / I hope you think my favorite song,” the star sang.
A hand-written lyric sheet of the tune recently sold at auction by Goldin for $87,840. Their website described the product, noting: “Swift signed these lyrics twice, once in black ballpoint pen, and once in black ink with a ’07’ inscription.”
The lot was made extra special as it was also signed by Liz Rose who was an early partner of Taylor, writing on 17 of her more early songs, including Tear Drops on My Guitar and All Too Well. The description added, “The lyric sheet has been professionally framed and features acid-free linen matting. The item comes with an LOAs from JSA and Beckett.”

“i would do unspeakable things for this,” wrote a fan on X, formerly known as Twitter. Another said: “ID THIS OLD OR IF ITS NEE THEN YES SHES BRINGING BACK DEBUT SIGNATURE FOR DEBUT TV.”
As the auctioneers noted, Tim McCraw debuted at 50 on the Billboard Hot Country 100 and climbed higher up to 10 as it grew in popularity. “It has been certified double platinum by the RIAA, and was ranked as the 11th greatest debut song of all time by Rolling Stone Magazine,” they wrote.
The track is expected to receive a re-recording from Taylor who set out on a journey to revisit her old work, molding them into “Taylor’s Versions.” The star methodically is walking through her past albums to reclaim them following, what she claims to be, a theft committed by Scott Borchetta and Scooter Braun. In doing so, she’s worked her way through Fearless, Speak Now, and 1989, leaving her debut album, Taylor Swift, and Reputation to rerecord.
Taylor has yet to announce the exact release dates for her final two projects, but fans speculate that Reputation will be up next, leaving her self-titled album set far in the future.
